Our story

We are the school district of Capalonga in Camarines Norte. There are 22 Public Elementary Schools that comprise the district. Together with OISCA CFP, we organized and coordinated activities to join the 2012 Green Wave Campaign. 18 schools expressed their intention to join in the environmental education session and orientation held on March 27, 2012. However, 11 schools were able make it to the Environmental Education session and orientation. The representatives from 5 schools were not able to attend due to the heavy rains and flood in their area. The 11 schools were encouraged to join and they then conducted EE in their schools during the last part of April. On May 22, the 11 schools who attended the orientation and conducted EE during April joined in the parade held at Barangay (Ward/District) Catioan to help drum up support and awareness for the 2012 Green Wave Campaign. After the parade, some of the representatives of the schools planted trees in Esturas-Nabata, while the others planted seedlings in their respective schools. For the School District of Capalonga, Mrs. Vivien R. Laborte planted a Pili tree.
