2014 was designated by the United Nations General Assembly of 2014 as the International Year of Small Island Developing States. For the occasion, the theme of the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB), 22 May 2011, will be Islands Biodiversity. You are once again invited to celebrate the beauty and bountifulness of nature and eventually to learn about or care for islands biodiversity on this special day. A good way to do so is to join The Green Wave, organize educational activities related to trees ecosystems, or islands ecosystems, within schools, communities and families, and to celebrate the wave with thousands of others on 22 May.
